Summer 2000
This winter, we released www.centerforfamilymed.org. This site is designed to be a continually growing resource for our patients and a communication learning tool for the residents. Throughout the three years, each resident will get at least one opportunity to prepare patient education materials for the site."In an increasingly wired world, CFM/SFFPR wants to use the Web as a learning tool for both our patients and the residents," said Holly Shane. This summer, www.siouxfallsfpr.org will hit the Web highlighting our Residency. Be sure to check us out!
Residency Attains Perfect AccreditationIn a letter dated June 8, 2000 the Sioux Falls Family Practice Residency was notified that it has received the maximum 5 years of "continued full accreditation". Furthermore, there were no citations or concerns mentioned. Such an action is achieved by only a select few programs. Congratulations are due to many people, including the entire faculty and staff of the residency, and to the numerous volunteer faculty who donate hours of their professional time to the education of our residents, including the USD Department of Family Medicine. Additional thanks are due to Avera McKennan and Sioux Valley Hospitals for their financial and administrative support.
The next accreditation visit will be expected around May of the year 2005.
