A Note from the AAFP

Several Chapter Executives and Academy members have called asking about phone solicitations that doctors are receiving to join the Physician Advisory Leadership Board.

The phone solicitors say that they are calling on behalf of House Minority Leader Tom Delay (R-TX) and requesting a donation of several hundred dollars. If a physician joins they are promised that their name will be listed in advertisements in the Wall street Journal as a member of the Leadership Board, and will be able to communicate their views with House Republican leadership.

We have verified this fundraising entity with the Republican National Committee. However, please caution your members who call you about this organization that it is a fundraising group and the money will be used by the House Republican Leadership as they see fit.
