The 2000 Black Hills Winter Ski Seminar will be held February 3-5, 2000 at the Spearfish Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Spearfish, SD.

Special guest speakers include G. Gayle Stephens, MD, and Joseph Scherger, MD. Dr. Stephens has been described as a "True Pioneer and Great Philosopher of Our Specialty!" He was the architect of one of the original Family Practice Residencies, in Wichita, Kansas.

Dr. Joseph Scherger just recently completed a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the AAFP, and has served as the President of the ABFP and STFM.

Once again we will be having a family hospitality room, which is a great place for spouses and children to gather during "official hours." Light refreshments will be served. All of our events will take place in the spacious Spearfish Convention Center, located adjacent to the Northern Hills Holiday Inn at Spearfish.

The Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday afternoon, followed by SDAFP Committees meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. Make plans to come to the committee meetings to give your input.

Following the committee meetings, or when you check in on Wednesday evening, be sure to come poolside for a Welcome Reception. Families are invited and encouraged to attend.

An "Exhibitor’s Social" will be held on Thursday, just before the evening session. Exhibitors will be present to give away their door prizes, and refreshments will be served.

The Friday evening "President’s Party" is a favorite for everyone. There is no monetary charge for this event, but we will request non-perishable food items be brought as a gift for the Food Pantry. We’ll be having a BEACH PARTY, with food, fun, games and music. Dig out your shorts, sandals and sunglasses for this fun event. All registrants and their families are invited.

There will be craft activities for the children on Thursday and Friday mornings. Watch for more information about this.
