Have Fun, Be Helpful, and Prepare for the Future

Would you like the opportunity to get directly acquainted with potential future partners, and at the same time help support the SFFPR? Several times each week help is needed from practicing physicians who volunteer to precept residents in the office, due to three vacancies in the program faculty. Practicing physicians may serve as visiting faculty on a weekly, monthly, or even isolated basis. Such services are appreciated by the residency faculty, and enjoyed by the residents and visitors alike. And relationships are initiated which can lead to future affiliations and partnerships.

Though the national average for filling a faculty vacancy is a full year, it is hard to avoid discouragement when, after eight months we have yet to interview a suitable applicant. Several qualified physicians have applied, but withdrawn for a variety of reasons. If you are aware of a family physician you fee would make a good faculty member, please encourage her/him to inquire, or pass your idea on to us and we will initiate the contact.
