Dan Reiffenberger is New Vice President

Dr. Dan Reiffenberger of Watertown is SDAFP’s newest Vice President, following an election during our Annual Meeting in July.

Dr. Reiffenberger joined our academy in 1987 and has served on several of our committees, most recently the Membership Issues Committee. As he has a special interest in education, he will switch to the Education Committee beginning in 2000.

Dan, along with his wife Sarah who is also a family physician, practices at the Brown Clinic in Watertown. They have 3 children.

Michael Gerlach is New Resident Board Member

Michael Gerlach, MD, of the Sioux Falls Family Practice Residency Program was elected to the Board of Directors during the Annual Meeting this summer.

Dr. Gerlach grew up in Corsica and hopes to return to a small community upon graduation. He attended the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and participated in the National Health Service Corps Fellowship of Primary Care Project during his training. He received several scholarships during medical school. In 1998 he was the recipient of the Curtis Wait, MD Memorial Award presented by the South Dakota Foundation of Family Medicine.
